Purple Portrait Cut Sapphire 1.04ct

This beautiful bright purple (similar to an amethyst) sapphire is cut in a very unusual way! This “portrait cut” is intentionally clear through the center of the gem, giving us a faceted frame and stunning color through the middle! I purchased this sapphire from Johannes Orstradius, a Swedish gem vendor focusing on Mine-to-Market sapphires (meaning tracking the source and rough all the way through to the final product). I’m lucky to be in a small group of folks he sells to before offering his gems to gem houses/vendors, so not only do I get first pick of amazing sapphires, I get amazing prices as well since Im purchasing directly from the mine/cutter! No heat treatment, natural color.
