John wanted to gift his wife a necklace that showed his love for his wife of 45 years, with the sun, stars, moon, and the whole solar system! This was a special piece for me to create, as Barb and John have known me since I was in elementary school... They were my folk's friends, and then I babysat weekly for their sons in high school, and they have blurred the lines of friends/family through the years. So it is extra meaningful to be able to create a special piece for these most special people! This necklace went through several iterations of concept... From selecting, sourcing, and in a couple of cases custom cutting, the planet gemstones... to playing with layout and design, lots of emails back and forth which led to this 14k yellow gold necklace crafted with wire, bezels, prong set diamonds, and even a surprise comet dangling off of the adjustable length back chain. All hand crafted and fabricated here at the studio. Such a fun piece to make, and it brings me such joy to see Barb wearing it!!! Yay!!!
